She stormed England years later soaring to the top of the charts with "House of Joy" (#1- Billboard A welcome return of a true club legend")). Nothing took off as strong as "Turn" in terms of pop acceptance, but she remained a vital dance floor diva for 20 years. "Hot Summer Night" "Admit It' "I Am Here and I'm Hot" "Summertime Fun" and "For Real" managed club time. She reemerged with a stunning track for the film Nocturnal in 1979 "Nighttime Fantasy"( Billboard "rivoting").
Released just 7 months before succumbing to cancer the Grammy nominated voice behind the classic "Turn the Beat Around" could not have aged better. I flew to New York to see her star in her autobiographical "Behind the Beat" and both Vicki and her husband Bill were warm and neighborly in welcoming my addiction to that unduplicated voice. She really scored with her remake of the Lulu classic "To Sir with Love" (#1 Australia) and released a riveting of cover the classic "Everlasting Love" shortly thereafter.She was a in demand backup vocalist working on Michael BOlton, Cyndi Luaper and Cher Lps. Vicki is in fine form here - with a haunting lyric that, with her passing, holds more reverence and meaning.
It too scored on the dance chart and was well received by critics. I will never forget Billboards review of her follow-up to her debut that exclaimed "What puts Robinson ahead of the rest of the disco pack is the marvelous theatrical quality in her vocals- she is an actress of song." Years later that could not have been more evident than by the vocals on this - her final release. Many believed that this was a one hit wonder, but Robinson managed to release music-a lot of it- from 1976 forward. Her follow-ups to her Grammy nominated debut ("Daylight" the Bobby Womack classic and David Gates "Hold Tight") both went top 10 on the dance charts and scored mid pop positions on the charts.

I am still waiting for some record company who will release her discography on CD, 24-bit remastered. Her voice set the dance floor on fire and always will.

Although, I was sad to hear of her passing in April, I'm sure the heavens are filled with her music and love. One of the original,ultimate divas of dance came back with this incredible song with her powerful voice sounding just as it did in the 1970's. "Move On" is an inspiration.
If you like a REINA, you should buy this. He mixed REINA's anything for love before. This song will be a gay anthem in Japan. This song is excellent. Especially welcome pro's mix is wonderful.
We can only hope that this is just a preview of an album to come. This is one of the best dance songs out there and it's not surprising with a voice like Vicki Sue singing it. This is a great song, a great mix and her voice is amazing.
